Would you believe me if I told you there were several other photographers alongside me when I took these photos? This was one of the many shoots planned out for my retreat that I host. It was an exciting experience to bring other photographers into an elopement day, show them how to tell a couple story organically as it happens & let them get content that can show the word how wonderful eloping intimately could be.
My biggest inspiration behind the shoot was to show how elopements can be beautiful, bold and styled if you want. There is an unhealthy perception that eloping is last minute & cheap. When in fact they can be planned just as far out as a typical wedding! They are gaining popularity as more couples feel at peace spending their days in intimate celebration rather than a whole day party, and we are all here to wholly support them.
This was at a beautiful emerging unique wedding venue here in Melbourne. Hosted on the wonderful chapter barn property, it has rolling views of Gippsland and treats you to sunrises and sunsets you honestly don't see anywhere else. It will be a fully functional wedding venue by the end of 2021 and I know the first couples who choose to have their elopement or wedding nuptials will be in for such a treat.
I had the most wonderful time photographing a previous couple of mine, Abi + Tom, for this retreat and capture a new season of their life at the same time with a baby on the way.
